Telescopes are notoriously hard to travel with and I set out to fix that problem. Introducing the Travel Telescope 114, designed for easy tool free assembly and disassembly. This 114mm aperture, 900/450mm focal length reflector telescope collapses down to fit into backpacks. Making it perfect for both beginner astronomers or those looking for easy travel.

Building this telescope yourself costs less than buying a new one, with the hardware kit and printed components totaling around $100. Plus, there's a dovetail mount for star trackers, making it great for astrophotography. Making a telescope is a great learning experience about astronomy and how telescopes work!

Focal Length Options

• 900mm Version: Standard version 114/900mm with 25mm secondary mirror. Great for visual use, can also be used for astrophotography.
• 450mm Version: Premium version ideal for wide-field views and astrophotography. This version uses a 114/450mm parabolic mirror with a 40mm secondary mirror.   
• Note: A 2x Barlow lens can extend the 450mm version to 900mm. Reducing the 900mm to 450mm with a focal reducer will significantly degrade the quality and is not recommended.

Safety Warning: NEVER LOOK AT THE SUN EVEN WITH SOLAR FILTERS! (Open telescope designs should not be used for solar observing)!! Metal bars may be sharp, handle with caution. Daytime use is not recommended due to Sun reflections (exception is if a full shroud cover is installed)! Recommended to store in collapsed configuration, always be careful of stray sunlight reflections from the mirror. Small parts chocking hazard. Seller is not responsible for injuries caused by improper use, use at your own risk.
